Its My Birthday and She'll Cry if She Wants To!!

Its my birthday today! But in mom life that means nothing. Obviously Eloah doesn't know that today is any different than any other day of the week.  So it makes perfect sense that every single time she was in the carseat today she was SCREAMING. So much so that I almost called my husband to cancel my birthday dinner because I couldn't imagine dragging this poor kid into a restaurant, nevertheless a NICE restaurant! But, I share my birthday with my mother in law so missing my own birthday dinner mean missing hers as well. So I sucked it up and hoped Eloah would fall asleep. She didn't. She even cried as we walked back to our table.
I have to admit I am blessed with a trooper of a kid! She is such a ham that any time we are in public I can usually count on her to at least be entertaining.  I hate when people say "oh is she a GOOD baby?" because she is just that, a baby! Of course she has her days of tears and screams, she's a baby! I will say that she does have a lot of days of smiles and singing and fewer days with tears and screaming. Even on teary eyed days, they only last for an hour or so before she jumps back on the 'happy bus'! Well, she really turned herself around after we got to the restaurant! I had brought some fun toys to entertain her and some cold asparagus to suck on (mostly to distract her from wanting to grab the hot pot of fondue)! She HATES high chairs (shocking, right?) so she sat next to me in the booth. Im pretty sure she is the reason anyone hangs out with me anymore because she is sheer entertainment for me and everyone around her. She she kept us all laughing thru dinner.
This is my best, favorite birthday, so far. It wasn't filled with gifts, in fact, I didn't even give my husband a list this year. It was wonderful because of who I shared it with. Eloah has changed so much of me for the better. She has helped me to appreciate. Just appreciate. I am so grateful that I have such a wonderful little lady and family to surround myself with. I don't need much else than them.
